ECP Summer Camp Teaching Positions
Children’s Day School (CDS) is a co-educational preschool through eighth-grade school serving over 470 students in the Mission Dolores neighborhood of San Francisco. Spanning two campuses, and home to a diverse community of students, faculty, and families, CDS is a vibrant learning community. The Role
CampCDS seeks dynamic Early Childhood Camp Teachers for the summer program. Reporting to the ECP Camp Coordinator, this position is responsible for supporting engaging camp activities for students entering Preschool through Kindergarten.
Employment dates will be roughly 6/18 - 8/8, with 7 weeks of full-time camp sessions, plus dates for training before camp begins and clean up after camp ends
Working hours are between 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
About the Program:
Our early childhood camp is for children entering/continuing preschool or starting TK or Kindergarten in the fall. Led by our amazing preschool team, the camp helps little ones build confidence in the classroom while having lots of summer fun. Camp days mirror the school routine with morning circle, project work, play, lunch, nap, and snack time. Activities include tinkering, arts, music, gardening, and cooking, plus learning experiences with visiting community partners like Culinary Artistas, Fitness in Transit, the Insect Discovery Lab, and Little Folkies.
- High school diploma required.
- College-level coursework in education is preferred.
- 12 units of Early Childhood coursework is preferred.
- Have experience teaching or leading youth activities and excellent classroom management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as a great sense of humor.
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work passionately and joyfully, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Keep classroom, storage areas, bathrooms, and outside areas neat and orderly
- Work effectively with children, families, and staff of diverse backgrounds and family structures.
- Display a passion for learning and a commitment to personal-professional growth.
- Possesses dynamic problem-solving and communication skills.
- Be proficient in technology: email, word processing, photos, etc.
Compensation
$25 per/hour
